Summer 2025 has been filled with choreographic endeavors, collaborative research, conferences, and much needed rest and relaxation.
UNC Greesnboro School of Dance students Elena Redman and Ethan Schwab collaborated with me in an upcoming trio performance entitled Boiling Point. The piece investigates themes of energy build-up, tension, and release through a combination of improvisatory and set movement phrases.
Myself along with Dr. Teresa Heiland, Lee Walton, Carrie Plew, and a swath of undergraduate students made the trek up to Columbus, Ohio to attend and present at the International Conference of Kinetography Laban/Laban Bartenieff Movement Studies conference.
In preparation for my MFA Thesis Project, I visited the Martha Blakeney Hodges Archives and Special Collections at the Jackson Library to research Labanotation scores from MFA students of UNCG past. Rehearsals for this project began in August and updates on the process will be soon to follow!
